Mentioned in the descriptions of saints, in the historical descriptions of humanity, close to our souls when we ask for their help, full of feelings, these beings of light secretly protect us with their love.

The word “angel” comes from the Greek “angelos”, which means “messenger”. Therefore, angels are the messengers of God who light the path towards Home, giving us His love and holy guidance, as the apostles of Jesus have told.

The bible has many stories about angels. But they belong to the entire human kind, not to a certain religion. All we have to do is to receive them in our life and to open our soul to them. We all need their help, even if we do not always admit it. They are meant to guide us and to protect us, to support our efforts towards perfection, in everyday life. They also help us to become aware of what opposes our evolutionary destiny and they give us the strength to remove difficulties and obstacles which appear in our life.

Two of the greatest thinkers of modern age, Emanuel Swedenborg and Rudolf Steiner, have seen the angels not only from the religious, but also from the human point of view. Rudolf Steiner perceived them as divine teachers that help people evolve spiritually. He thought, for example, that archangel Michael is the guiding angel of our times. A very important part of his works describes the ways of communicating with the angelic beings. One of these is by the use of icons which represent their face. For this, we have to increase in our hearts faith and intuition. Thus, we will be helped to reach a high spiritual level and we will grasp the divine game of God, at the core of reality.
The subtle messages of the angels are received through the right hemisphere of the brain. Here, the received information, transformed into images, is synthesized. It is that part of the brain which is stimulated the fastest through music, colours and contemplation. Experiencing the aesthetic emotion, together with the yogic methods of meditation and relaxation helps the so necessary harmonization of our cerebral hemispheres. Therefore, it helps us to use our potential as human beings.
