In a time where the tendency is to devaluate the spiritual values ever more to a degree where yoga and other initially spiritual systems for self transformation often have become so trivialized that only the mere physical aspect remains; yoga nowadays is associated with a kind of slow gymnastics in peculiar positions, devoid of its original essence. The spiritual part of yoga aims to awaken the entire latent potential of the human being covering a wide range of unimagined wonderful qualities and ultimately the Supreme Self, ATMAN. To counteract this tendency Natha Yogacenter is hosting a competition for their students with the purpose of promoting spirituality and the spiritual values.
Even though it is organized as a real competition with rewards for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places the real goal is not so much to encourage competition between the participants, much more so the idea is that each and every student through the participation in this competition at the end of every year can get a feedback on the transformation which has happened in their being in the year that has past. The idea is that all the students of the school can come every year and participate together, enjoying the elevated spiritual atmosphere which they create together during their participation in the competition, and through their participation their transformation will be mirrored back to them, so that they in this way experience more clarity on their path. In this way it could be said that it is rather a competition which each participant has with him or herself; they overcome their limiting blockages and inhibitions and every year they have the possibility to “measure” their own evolution and in this way they realize the idea of continuous transformation, which is the motto of Natha Yogacenter.

If somebody should ask me what exactly I would like to remove from my daily life , the answer would be, directly and precisely: the monotony. A plentiful, delightful, fascinating life, that’s what many of us are dreaming to live. All of us, modern people, serious minded, having strong and steady life principles are aspiring, face it or not , consciously or unconsciously, to have a way of living full of everything that is good, a real horn of plenty and why not, lots of exciting experiences. Life like a happy blockbuster! |

On 8Th October this year the International Day of Yoga took place. This was the day where people of Copenhagen tried different styles of yoga or listened to the yoga schools presentations of their theoretical and philosophical basis. Moreover, the different projects of the yoga schools were also presented.
A lot of people showed up to get an insight into the different yoga schools as a way to better choose what best fits them. In one hall the noble and ancient yoga techniques as presented by the various participating schools was practiced; in another hall the audience received a thorough and descriptive theoretical introduction into the types of yoga and their beneficial effects.

A weekend gathering of yoga teachers, aspiring yoga teachers and newly graduated yoga teachers from all over the world
by Liliana Serban
Let’s suppose you have been practicing yoga for three, four or maybe even ten years ... After all those years you have achieved good health, inner peace, a higher level of consciousness…So what is next? What is the next step? What more could you wish to achieve?
For some students of Natha Yogacenter, Copenhagen, their spiritual dreams are more mature and responsible because they aim to become yoga teachers in order to share their knowledge with other people.
Very recently, from 10th to 13th November, 2011, Natha Yogacenter was the warm, open hearted host for three international events:
* Meeting of the teachers of the Atman International Federation of Yoga and Meditation
*Yoga teacher training course
*The graduation ceremony of the newest yoga teachers.

On the 2nd of march, it was Maha Shiva Ratri - the great night of Shiva which takes place once a year on the last new moon of the zodiacal year. It is a privileged astrological moment which is very helpful for entering in resonance with the subtle sphere of force of Shiva – the Supreme Consciousness. We celebrated it with a wonderful spiral meditation, and I would like to share my experience of that.
I had been teaching in the afternoon, and afterwards I had been to tantra class – first year – and been talking to one of the girls from the class, sharing experiences from our hearts – I felt so uplifted and happy for this precious moment with her. And then it was time for the spiral – I had been in some spirals before, but was still not so familiar with it. But I looked very much forward to celebrating Shiva in this way.
I went into the room, and we were placed according to gender and star-sign, and the meditation began. It was a meditation with music, and I am not yet so good at focusing when there is music in the meditation – as I am not so trained. But I decided to relax and just offer my heart to Shiva and whatever he would want to give to me.
